Bands: sign up for THE WALL by 11-11-2026 to be considered for THE DISC OF DESTINY — a double vinyl album of Pacific Northwest sound, releasing August 2027. Every band that gives its music to THE WALL by the deadline is automatically in the pool. Two discs, one region: folk to hip-hop, punk to jazz — whatever the South Sound is making right now. Music & Heart in Wright Park has put South Sound bands on a free stage every year since 2019 — funded by Tacoma Creates, fiscally sponsored by Shunpike. The same producers bring that ear, and that community, to THE DISC OF DESTINY.
Two images from the oldest storytelling we have — a Mesopotamian cylinder-seal impression and Anzu, the lion-headed eagle — are reference points for the themes running through THE DISC OF DESTINY: fate, the winged disc, the record as a seal pressed into clay. The album's own artwork is still to come.
