How we use AI

The short version

THE WALL is built with the help of AI-assisted development tools. We don't use AI to make decisions about you, to read your messages, or to process your personal information.

Where AI touches the site today

  • Building the site. Our developers use AI coding assistants. No user data is involved.
  • Reading public event calendars. When a venue's website has no machine-readable calendar, an AI model reads the public page text to extract dates and titles for the Community Calendar. Only public web pages are read — never user data — and the results are reviewed by people.
  • Images. Where a graphic was made with AI, we label it "AI-generated." Artists' work is never presented as AI, and AI art is never presented as an artist's.

What we won't do without telling you

If we ever add AI features you interact with directly — a chatbot, an assistant, AI-written safety summaries — we'll say so clearly before you use them, and any such feature will send crisis, legal or medical questions to real people and hotlines, not to a model. Questions: thestarwall@icloud.com.
